Excel Lookup or IF function, Don't know which to use

Hi

I'm trying to write a function where a cell would sum all of th
corresponding values in cells that have a certain value in a cel
beside it.

EX. I want to add all the values of cells in Column B if the value i
same row Column A is equal to value X. A good example of this would b
budgeting across different centers that share line objects such a
labour

Use SUMIF. For example, if X = 4:

=SUMIF(A:A,4,B:B)
