Excel should allow more than 65,536 rows.

The subject line pretty much says it all. Excel should be like Quattro in
that it allows a much larger number of rows on a sheet (up to a million?).
There are times it would come in handy. While we're at it, maybe allow more
columns as well.

Sounds like you want to use Excel as a database problem. That's not what it's
best at. Maybe you could put your data in Access and use Excel for
summarizing.
