Excel to Access (2003)

I have an Excel 2003 database - list of alumni with names, addresses,
year of grad, etc. and I'm trying to import it into Access 2003. All
seems to go normally with the wizard, but then I get a "Subscript out
of range" message - twice during the attempt at conversion. The it
reports "...could not be imported".

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi Robert,

This is a rare problem, maybe caused by an irregularity in the data. Try
exporting from Excel to a CSV file, then import that into Excel. If that
fails, post back in the external data newsgroup
(microsoft.public.access.externaldata).

I did as you suggested, and the import reported about 29 errors.
Haven't analyzed them all yet, but most related to a field called
"graduation", which contains just a 4 digit year - hard to screw
up......

I'll continue, and take it up in the other group.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Robert,

It does sound odd. Looking at the CSV file, is there by any chance an extra,
empty field at the end of the problematic records?
