Excel will not let me group columns

I have 84 columns of data (7 years) I use the group command to hide the
monthly data.

Excel will let me group 6 of the years and always leave one open. Excel
responds with "Cannot Shift Object off Sheet."

What am I doing wrong?

the problem is with cell comments (or other objects) inserted into cells
within the range you are trying to hide.
