Excell and use of resources

We have upgraded our version of excel recently and have a
number of "flavors" that have been upgraded to 2002 and
run on windows XP professional PC's and Windows 200
Profesional. The Spread sheets themselves are stored on
an older file server running windows NT 4.0 sp6.

I'm not a deveoper or pretend to be but the only thing I
understand is there are several spread sheets that
contain macros and servas databases amoung other spread
sheets that ar today not working.

With no other applications running on the local PC's but
Excel 2002, users are getting the message "Excel cannot
complete this task with the available resources. Choose
less data or close other applications".

The size of the psread sheets that are used or must be
open to work properly ( I guess some type dependancy) are
4.34 mb and 648kb respectivly. I have plenty of room on
the older file server where thes spread sheets reside.
And ample resources on the local maichines that run the
application, Excel.

Any ideas why these applications are not running today?
