Exchange 2000 SP3 breaks Entourage clients?

Hi all,

I work in a 50/50 Mac/PC mixed environment. We have a 2000
Exchange server that we installed SP 3 on over the weekend. While we
were able to iron out the sudden PC problems we experienced, we have
found that Entourage 10.1.4 and 10.1.5 running in Panther no longer
work with our server. On my local machine I have gotten error -23012
and a second user received -3171.

Anyone else have this issue? This is the only change in our
configuration. I have been using this set up since 10.1.4 Office Update
was available with no problem, until now. I've searched the Microsoft
site to let them know of this issue, but I'd rather not spend $249.00 on
a service call for something I don't think we broke on our end.

Any advice? Ironically, emailing me is still probably the best way to
contact me with any responses.

Thanks in advance!

if ur runing panther u may want to try the mail client
that comes with it as it has built in native support for
exchange...im still trying to get the ldap global adrees
list to work with it but everything else has been a breeze

Believe it or not, it appears that Mail.app has stopped working as well. I
guess whatever MS and Apple included in their new offerings to make it
Exchange capable was broken in the post SP3 update.

I just noticed this message in my console:

Dec 16 03:15:02 localhost postfix/postqueue[466]: warning: Mail
system is down -- accessing queue directly

This was added while using Mail.app

It looks like it broke IMAP on the server... Youshould first check
whether IMAP is still enabled.

Do you get it as well through Entourage ??
You could try connecting through Eudora (configuring the account as
IMAP). Not that it does a better job, but it might give you an error
message and clicking on "help" in the Task Progress window, you could
get more details about the issue.

You can also try to use TCPFlow for the server to track down what
traffic goes on with the Exchange server. That could be very, very
useful.
