Exchange 2003 connection problem

Hello all,

I'm trying to connect a Mac running OSX and Entourage 2004 to a newly
installed Exchange 2003 server. The machine can access the users
account through outlook web access but when I try and use Entourage to
send mail I get the error "The Server cannot fulfil the request" with
an error code of -18500. I can ping the server but i suspect that there
is a problem with the networking setup of the mac. Can anyone help with
this please?

Do you have the same problem if you use the IP address of the server
instead of the name ??

Refering to the server by IP address worked! Thank you very much for
your help. I assume that this is something to do with DNS settings, but
I'm not that bothered as we only have 3 macs in the organisation.

Once again, many thanks. I know where to come for help from now on!

I'm glad it worked for you. This demonstrates a problem on the DNS (or
using the right DNS if the Mac isn't setup properly). In any case, as
long as the IP doesn't change, you should be OK :)
