exchange 5.5/Outlook 2000 and forwarding

I am using the above configuration in my organization. I
have a user that needs for a rule to forward a message to
an outside address via Internet Mail Service. The rule
does not work, however, in the past, it has. One thing to
note. I have enabled the forwarding of email to the
internet. I thought that would fix the problem, as
Microsoft Exchange 5.5 defaults to disable this function,
only to find out the problem still exists.

Some companies prevent you from auto forwarding to an external address on
the server. Check with your lan admin first.

I also use Exchange 5.5 and I sometimes forget to stop and
restart the Internet Mail Service after making changes.
