Exchange account in Entourage lost all calendar data when attemptedsync with iCal

Hello all,

I am using Entourage 2004 on a Tiger machine with an Exchange account.
Recently I switched to a new identity in Entourage. I cleared the Sync
Services settings in the old identity according to instructions in
Entourage help, then enabled them in the new identity. An Entourage
calendar was duly created in iCal, but instead of moving the Entourage
data to iCal, the Entourage calendar was overwritten apparently and
all data is gone.

Is there any hope for recovering my calendar data? Obviously I have
lost it on the Exchange server as well, and am in a bit of a panic
over it. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Julia!

If Entourage treats the removed items as "deleted" then you may be able
to log in to your company Outlook Web Access (OWA) server, select
Options on the left and view your "Deleted Items" on the right at the
bottom of the window. If you see them then you can recover them. Hurry,
though, because the Exchange Server most likely keeps them there just a
week or two.

Otherwise, if you don't see your messages then pulling the events from
your own backup or a backup of the server is probably your only hope.

Thanks, Bill. I checked the OWA, and the calendar items are not in the
deleted items folder. I will have to check on Monday if there is a
possibility that my work IT folks can retrieve a backup from the
server.
