Exchange calendar items not syncing with Entourage

Hello

I have a major issue where some items that are on my Exchange calendar
do not appear in my Entourage calendar. I have made sure I am looking
at Entourage->Exchange Account. I can't see if there are any filters
etc that are stopping me seeing it.

Any ideas?

This seems to happen more often with the Calendar. If you see this in
just one or a handful of folders or the Calendar then right-click or
Control-click that item, select Folder Properties and click the Empty
button to empty the cache. You can also select the account itself and
empty the cache for all of your folders.

Hope this helps!

William,

Our company has over a thousand Mac users and we're seeing three scenarios
more and more with Entourage 2008 and Exchange Server 2003:
1. As described by unserrer - showing up if we view in OWA or Outlook on
our Exchange calendar but not on Entourage calendar
2. MORE WIDELY being seen - showing up on our Entourage calendar but not
syncing properly to our Exchange account and therefore not reflecting our
true free/busy
3. Meetings randomly disappearing off our calendars after accepting invites
and/or experiencing random time offsets (ie we accept a meeting for 1pm PST
and w/o any modifications to the invite, it *moves* to 2pm PST, 3am PST -
something random)

1. Clearing cache to address #1 removes one's categories and is a fairly
brute force workaround
2. Clearing cache in #2 one risks losing appointments all-together
3. Clearing cache has no affect on #3

The strange thing is, a few of us are having success by accepting all
invites in iCal, then using MSFT sync services to get them into Entourage
2008 and then back up to Exchange. Why this would work in iCal but fail in
Entourage is beyond me.

Any thoughts you have on why we may be seeing these issues or anything
beyond clearing cache that you could recommend to dig into this a little
deeper to see what is going on?

Thanks, Steve

I actually cleared my calendar cache and that worked as advertised.
Interestingly, I've just spotted a load of emails in my OWA inbox that
Entourage is not showing. Any ideas how I get to see them?

If clearing the cache for your calendar worked then try the same for
your mail folders as well. You can do one folder at a time or your
entire account.

Hope this helps!

Hi Steve!

Unfortunately, I can't provide you enough practical experience to give
you any insight. Our company is still using Entourage 2004 because of
our VBA needs.

The best I can offer is a page I put together a few weeks ago listing
Exchange and Entourage knowledgebase articles from Microsoft. Since
you're having this problem with multiple Macs the problem may be with
your servers. Have a look at:

"Microsoft KB articles related to Entourage and Exchange"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/kb_articles.html>

Maybe you'll find some patches that need to be applied to your servers.

Hope this helps!

I think there are two different problems here - I am responding to Steve's.

Steve

We are experiencing the same problem with calendar invites disappearing or
moving back to original spot after an update.

About on the end of our tether, but only other option is of course a
Microsoft one!

However, I will give your iCal & Sync Services trick a go and see how that
gets on - a nasty workaround, but interesting.

Have you posted a bug with Microsoft?
Do you use Delegation?
Do you use BlackBerry mobiles?
What version of Exchange and Windows and BES if applicable?

Regards
Craig.

I had a similar issue with calendar, what I found fixed it on our end was going into schedules and setting the send/recieve all to run every minute. I only have about 30 macs running in my win 2003 ad environment we are running exchange 2003, but since doing this I have had no issues.

All meeting requests/accepts seem to populate to exchange immediately and can be seen not only in my outlook (I have xp, vista and mac on my desk) but also my blackberry. My other users have similar results with their iPhones... Just a thought don't know if it will help or not

Hey Craig (and Steve),

We're having the same issues with dropped and moving calendar events. We're
also starting to see issues with the Blackberry sync as well (events aren't
getting updated randomly on the BB).

We're running Exchange 2003
We have execs with Macs running Entourage 2008 or 2004 in OS X 10.5
Their assistants are using Outlook 2003 on XP and delegated for their
Calendars
They all use Blackberries

We're pulling our hair out here. There have been issues with delegating
through Entourage in the past as well - we have to do the delegation through
Outlook. Some of us are wondering if that is a symptom of any greater issue
that may cause the other problems.

Glad I found this thread! Thanks guys for any help!

Kirk...
