Exchange calendar on laptop and desktop

I use both a laptop and a desktop computer to check the same Exchange
account. I'm not clear how Exchange calendar events sync.

Say I make changes to my Exchange calendar events via my desktop, and
then log on to my Exchange account via my laptop. Will the updated
events on the Exchange server overwrite what's on the laptop, or will
the older events on the laptop overwrite what's on the server?

Essentially, I want to make sure that I'm not destroying changes I make
to my calendar by logging on with a separate computer. I think that I am.

When you make changes on your calendar, go "Calendar" menu and select
"Synchronize Now" or hold command key and press L. You can also right click
on the calendar folder and select "Synchronize Now". Please do this on the
machine you made changes on your calendar. If you use Outlook and Entourage
with the same account and make change on your calendar in your Outlook, hit
F9 to sync.

Thank you,
