Exchange calendar problem

I'm having problems getting my calendar on my computer to sync with my
exchange calendar. Often events which I've created in my local calendar
don't appear in Exchange at all, and vice versa. Also there is sometimes an
issue where birthday dates are moved for no apparent reason, sometimes by as
much as a couple of days. I don't know if the two problems are related, but
at least I can see that the mistakes on the server aren't being transferred
to the local machine!

Email synchronisation seems to work fine, as do contacts: the problem seems
to be confined to the calendar.

I have Entourage 11.2.1. Mac OS 10.4.4 and the server is Outlook 2003.

All help and advice welcomed!

Hi Clive!

Are you aware that with Entourage 11.2.x, multiple calendar support was
added? Your local calendar called "Calendar [On My Computer]" is not
suppose to synchronize with Exchange. Is this the one you're referring
to?

Only the "Calendar [your Exchange account]" will synchronize with your
Exchange server. You can drag and drop events from one calendar to the
other to copy items.

If you share your Exchange calendar with others but would prefer to hide
sensitive events, you can do so by going to Event menu --> Private while
your event is open.

Regarding your "birthday dates", if you're using Entourage with Exchange
then your organization most likely has a webmail site (Outlook Web
Access or OWA) that you can access via a web browser. Verify that the
event dates are correct there. You could have an issue with your
Exchange server and not with Entourage. Experiment by adding events in
OWA and seeing how they synchronize to Entourage.

Hope this helps! bill

Thanks for the reply, Bill

Did I miss something in the documentation? I don't remember ever reading
what you've explained, and it all makes sense!
