Exchange Connection - Does not connect

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

Have read everything I can find but have not found a solution. Recently moved from one branch of Company to another branch in another country - the new country IT has never dealt with Mac's before. IT has set up a new exchange email identity for the new country which works fine in MS Outlook running under VM Fusion.
Understand that Entourage and Outlook access the Exchange Server differently, but Exchange Server, Domain, Email Address and password don't change between Outlook and Entourage do they.
My conclusion is that it is an issue with the Exchange Server setup - where do I start looking?

You haven't stated your problem yet. Are you saying that Entourage is
not working? Are you receiving error messages? Are you able to access
your account using Outlook Web Access (OWA) in Safari?

Sorry, the problem is that the Entourage Account will not connect with the Server. On the same computer, through VMFusion and Outlook, the connection works without a problem.
I do not use Safari, but I can connect to the Account using Outlook Web Access in Firefox on the same computer.

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

Are you connecting to an internal server or an external Outlook Web
Access (OWA) server address? While on your company network I suggest
using an internal network server.

If you're using an external server, does it have any sort of additional
(non-Exchange) authentication that you're required to go through such as
SecurID? Entourage cannot accommodate third party security solutions.

Hi Bill. I am using an internal network server. I tested on OWA following your first post and it works. There are no third party security measures. The only distinguishing feature I can pick is that the internet proxy server is connected manually. Is there any particular setup required for MS Exchange for Entourage/Mac that would not be required for a Windows setup?

Connecting to your Exchange server using a web browser is the test to
see if Entourage will work because Entourage connects the same way.
Entourage connects using the WebDAV protocol whereas Outlook uses the
MAPI protocol. So, yes, they do connect differently. Your new web server
must support WebDAV. If you can connect to your account using that
server's address in a web browser then it does.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "the internet proxy sever is
connected manually". Can you elaborate?

If I understand your scenario, your name, password and E-mail address
remain the same but your mail account is simply being moved to a
different server that will be closer to you in the different country.
Correct?
