Exchange contacts not visible in Entourage

CQMAIL

Hi

I am connecting to my Exchange server with Entourage 10.15, and can synch
mails and calendars OK, but the email contacts available on the server don't
seem to be available to me in Entourage.

My Windows outlook client does not mention a directory name, so I'm not sure
what I need to configure to get the email addresses in Entourage.

Any help appreciated.

Hi Shaun,

In the Directory tab for the Exchange account, you'll either want to enter
the IP address of your exchange server or the actual name of the exchange
server. I don't know about you, but for me, this feature only works when
I'm connected to the actual network itself, not when I'm working via
remote and connecting via VPN.

Well, in some cases it could be a completely different machine (it is
the case for me).

Actually the global address book is provided through LDAP (on the same
server or a differnet one) and these servers indeed often perform IP
filtering.

In order to get to access the global address book, you need to properly
configure the LDAP server on your Mac.
On the site where I work, we have non-standar settings with
authentication and domains in addition to IP filtering. In order to get
LDAP to work, I had to get as much information as I could from the
Network Admin (and they didn't give me much) and configure MacOS X
accordingly.
I've had to configure the "Directory Access" app to deal with LDAP. THat
might be the case here too. Shaun might have to get help from the
Network people on the site...
