Exchange Items in FOLDERS ON THIS COMPUTER

I have a client who insists on using a MAC while her company is an all
Microsoft shop (she owns the company).
She, for many years, has had nothing but problems with email in one way or
another(entourge/Outlook for mac VS exchange). Anyway, I thought I finally
could put the frantic emails to rest as I installed Entourage 2004 to connect
to the Exchange server
and it worked like a charm. She was happy, I was happy - life was good.

But last Thursday something changed. She still has connectivity to Exchange
but most (not all) incoming mail gets routed to the FOLDERS ON THIS
COMPUTER's Inbox.

But the fun doesn't stop there, EVERYTHING gets routed to that inbox folder!
Sent items, junk mail, what have you. Madness! and she of course is through
the roof.

Below the Folders On This Computer (which I'd like to get rid of as they are
useless
and are in the way of said Exec but doesn't seem possible) is another folder
"node" that is all of her exchange folders.

She has the same setup at home and the same problem (she connects through a
VPN).

I've deleted the exchange acount in entourage 3 times and recreated it - the
problem persists.

Has anyone else had this problem and how do I fix it.

Well that's unfortunately a very common problem.
After a database rebuild, or if ever the rules and mailing list manager
get corrupted, Entourage tends to default to folders On My COmputer and
send everything it filters there instead of the original locations on
the Exchange account.
Just check the rules and MLM.

I just posted an explanation for the problem on another post:
Rebuilding the database is a little more drastic for Exchange accounts
than the other ones. Entourage doesnt even try to recover anything: it
trashes all the local Excahgne cache and forces the app to re-download
everything from the server the next time you launch the app. The problem
with this approach is that the Rules and MLM then have no folder to send
the files to and usually default to whatever folder they can find then
(usually the inbox "on my computer"). Please, do check and reset the Rules
and MLM for Exchange accounts after a rebuild,

Thanks so much!
I did check the rules but the only one there was the one I created.
I did try to create other rules to "move" the mail from this crazy inbox
folder
with no luck.

I can't wait to try to disable the MLM.
I hope that works!
