Exchange sending problem

Hello,
I have patched entourage with the latest patches etc.

The problem I have is when I send an email it appears to have gone
from the outbox. However it doesn't go anywhere it simply seems to
dissapear.
It is shown in the sent folder.

The settings I am using are correct, the exchange server is working
fine because I have a pc next to the mac which works which uses
outlook. However on the PC the sent folder does not contain emails
sent from entourage.

Does anyone have any ideas on a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Yeah, but as I was posting in another thread, the PC is using MAPI to
e-mails whereas the Mac uses IMAP/SMTP.
It could be a problem with the SMTP server... I've seen cases where
ENtourage (or other apps like Eudora) send their mail to the SMTP server
and everything appears to be OK but the SMTP server never actually sends
them. You shoudl check that out with the networks people in charge of
the server IMHO :-\

Thanks Corentin,

Well I am the network guy here, unlucky huh. I know nothing about
macs. Any idea how I can view, or change it on the server?

;-D Quite on the contrary. It eliminates an intermediary ;-)))

Well, there shouldn't be anything to change on the Mac side. The first
thing I'd do is to make sure the SMTP server is enabled and functioning
properly on the Exchange server (Outlook doesn't require SMTP at all if
I quite remember so there is no reason why you'd notice anything from a
PC). No filtering or any other weirdness for instance ???
You can also try sending an e-mail through the SMTP server from any
other mail application on a Mac or PC to make sure it works fine.
