Exchange Server 5.5

Setup:

PowerBook G4
Osx 10.3.5
Entourage 2004

Will Entourage work with Exchange Server 5.5 provided I put the exchange
server directly into the field rather than the http web server?

I guess my question is - is there any way to make this work other than
settinig up my exchange server as an IMAP account?

Also please ...

My account was working fine setup as IMAP up until yesterday. Then suddenly,
it wasn't connecting anymore. I suddenly starting getting this message:

The connection to the server failed because the network is unavailable. Make
sure that your computer is connected to the network and that your server is
working correctly. If you need help, contact your network administrator.

The timing seems to have been when I upgraded to 10.3.5.

Any help on both questions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob

One more thing to add:

I tried the same settings in Apple Mail and still have the same problem. The
error message is a little more detailed:

It is saying the server refused connection on port 143. I also tried using
SSL and got the same error message saying the server refused connection on
port 993.

I also tried putting the IP address of the server directly in. Same error.

Hmmmmmmm

Your only options for accessing an Exchange server in Entourage are WebDAV
(2004), IMAP, and POP3. Exchange 5.5 doesn't support WebDAV. That leaves
IMAP and POP3.
