exchange server

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: Exchange

I am using entourage 2004 for connecting to the exchange server to get mail in my institution. When I am in the internal network of my institution I have no problem to connect but when I am connecting from outside (home or other institution) entourage tells me "not connected" and I cannot get the mail. I know that people who are using outlook in their PCs do not have this problem. Any idea why is there such difference between PC and Mac? Can I do something?
P.S. I live in a PC-oriented Institution and Mac users get very little support.

That's most probably a DNS server setting issue. Entourage fails to find
the server.
Can you connect to the same server through your web browser??

You're connecting to a back-end Exchange server, which is not typically
shared to the Internet.

Outside your company network you want to connect to your company's
Outlook Web Access (OWA) server.

However, if you modify your Exchange server settings between networks
then your message store will be erased and resynchronize. I have a
script to automatically switch your Exchange Server address that should
help.

Have a look at these three links about connecting and about the script:

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server from Home"

Hope this helps!

Thanks but it is not working.
I followed your post and use the OWA server address in the account data. Again worked nicely inside the Institution network but from outside it did not recognize my account name/password.
