exchange settings and entourage

I am having trouble setting up my Entourage users with the Exchange
server. In the office, I must specify the local server name or IP
sbsserver/192.168.1.2). But out of the office, I must use the subdomain
alias/public IP to connect. Any ideas on how to have just one setting
in Entourage to allow connections both in and out of the office?

Why don't you just use the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) in both
places? e.g. for my Entourage install on my MacBook Pro, I use
"rapier.robichaux.net" as the Exchange server name. Inside my firewall,
that resolves to the internal IP; outside, it resolves to the correct
public IP. This does require you to set up your public and private DNS
properly, but it's probably the best solution.

Another solution is to join your work network via a VPN; then your internal
work settings should work just fine.

That's what I will do. Thanks for the input.
