Exchange Synch Schedule

T

Terrill

Where to begin. So the crux of my question is that it appears that
the synch between my local folders and the exchange server happens on
it's own schedule outside of the "send & receive" schedule that I have
established. The question is - is there anyway to control the timing
of the synching?

The next question is around a problem I am noticing in terms of my
Inbox not being synched. So here is the example - I send a email to
myself, I watch all of my folders get synched and the "inbox" is never
listed, it is like it is skipped. If I do a manual send and receive
for my exhange account - nothing, no new email. The ONLY way I have
been able to get the new email to come, is to quit and resart the app.

It is almost like the only time the inbox is "synched" is at
application start up. This can't be right? So basically if I keep my
entourage opened all day, my folders stay synched throughout the day,
but I don't get any new email.

HELP!

No.

I don't see this problem myself. FWIW, you can try toggling the Work Offline
setting rather than qutting and relaunching. That should force Entourage to
ping the server again. Also I believe Entourage uses UDP on the network to
receive notifications of new mail. Make sure this works on your network.

I'm seeing almost identical sync'ing behaviour and didn't see this issue with
Entourage.X. It is quite aggravating and seems to be broken.

Entourage will sync the Inbox after initial startup, but only sporatically after
that - sometimes taking longer than an hour to sync new email to the Inbox.

I can sometimes trigger it to sync faster by restarting Entourage.

I thought this may have been related to a slow connection (dial-up), but I've
seen this on high-speed (DS3+) connections as well.

Puzzling...
