Exchange to PST

I have decided to do away with exchange and move to IMAP, but first I need to convert my email file from an exchange file to a PST (Windows extension) or a mac version thereof. I am not sure of the mac extension.

Does anyone know how to convert this?

When you say you're switching from Exchange to IMAP, does that mean you're
switching providers/servers entirely? Or merely switching the way you access
your Exchange server to IMAP?

Do you still have (or have you ever had) access to your Exchange server in
Entourage? If so, hands-down the easiest way to migrate would be to set up
both accounts and then drag the messages from one account to the other. I
recommend doing it in manageable batches if you have a lot of mail/folders
so as not to kill your network connection.
