exe files open into outlook express

I downloaded virtual bouncer, ran it, got a confirmation
e-mail and when it tried to charge me 74.95 I canceled.

Now all my ".exe" files open into Outlook Express and
display the program itself (for example notepad.exe shows
the code for notepad) rather than running the program.

I also can not check my mail now. I cant use any .exe
files.

How do I clean this up?
