Exhange problem-List update constantly

Ever since going to entourage 2008 it seems like my exchange account constantly tries to update the complete list of folders and locks the program up until it finishes. I've tried to turn off all schedules but it still does it. I'm tired of having to wait for it to finish updating to even type an email and am ready to go back to the 2004 version. Any help?

Can you verify for me that you're connecting to a back-end server (not
an OWA server address)? I believe you're seeing something similar to
what a few here have reported.

If you do anything such as move a message from one folder to another the
move is quick because synchronization with Exchange hasn't started yet.
Then when you begin to compose a message an synchronization begins you
get the spinning rainbow wheel while Entourage synchronizes. Does this
sound like your issue?

If so, I don't believe this is necessarily just an Entourage 2008 issue.
I've seen this happening with Entourage 2004 within the past few months.
My suspicion is that an Exchange Server update is causing this problem
but I have nothing more than that.

I am not OWA.
I am within the same walls internally connected to the exchange server on a fast intranet.
This problem never showed up until I upgraded to 2008. My 2004 worked flawlessly. I did the upgrade about a month ago.

I'm also seeing the same behavior. I'm using an Exchange Server at work and the *constant* folder updates locks everything up. I've resorted to working offline and then syncing up once I've done the work I set out to do.

This is incredibly annoying. It amazes me that Entourage cannot do this in the background and needs to lock up until it completes.

Anyone getting closer to figuring out what is going on?
