Export emails

I am at a cross-road to decide if I should start use Entourage mail on my
PowerBook. One big concern is how easy it is to export my mail archives
from Entourage mail to other format, e.g. Plain text files for unix, when
needed.

Any resourceful people out there could enlighten me a bit? I even cannot
locate where the Entourage mails physically reside on the OS X system ;-)
In the past I know it is hard to export mail from MS Outlook. I hope it is
not the case for Entourage.

Thanks in advance!

It's extremely easy. Individual messages can be simply dragged to the
Finder, and AppleScripts can export Entourage mail in mbox format.

For detailed information about importing and exporting Entourage data, see

They are kept in a single database file to improve indexing. See

Not at all. Entourage is a dream and supports all the standards.

It's extremely easy. Individual messages can be simply dragged to the Finder
to create text files (with an .eml extension). Drag a folder to the Desktop
and you've got an mbox.
