Export-Import Entourage 1.3.9

This is primarily for Paul Berkowitz, but anyone else is free to chime
in:

I recently posted the Trouble Importing Data from X to 2004 thread
where you suggested using your scripts, which I've purchased and
installed in 2004. However, I have not been able to get them to break
into the database with my emails and address book. To briefly recap,
when I dragged my "X" files directly into the "2004" identities folder,
they recompiled and compressed in such a way that 2004 cannot read them
and I am unable to go back to "X". Can you suuggest a sequence of steps
using your scripts to solve this problem? I've read through your
documentation and it hasn't helped with this particular problem.

Thanks,

Jim

I include an email address in the ReadMe so you can write me with any
questions.

I never said that the scripts would "break into" your database file. Nothing
can do that. The scripts work on an open identity in a running Entourage (X
or 2004). Perhaps I misunderstood what your situation was (I thought you
wanted to export from 2004 back to X, if I remember correctly, which I may
not.)

I guess you realize by now that you did something pretty foolish and not
advised - dragging your _only copy_ (??) of your X Database file into the
Office 2004 Identities folder? That's not how to import an Entourage X
identity into 2004. At the very least, did you not do this with a copy? Do
you not have a backup?

If you have no copy or backup of your original Entourage X Identity folder
containing the Database file, there's nothing at all you can do about it. If
you do have a copy, there's lots you can do about it, and probably would not
need my scripts unless there's an irresolvable corruption issue (this sort
of thing could happen in Entourage 2001, but I don't think I've heard of it
happening in X).
