I recently tried the above script and successfully
(generally) exported my messages from Entourage X to
Office/Outlook 2003(Windows).
However, the dates of all the imported in emails have been
changed to the date of import into Outlook.
Is there a way to maintain the original mailing dates of
the messages/email?
Most email programs that import mail will generally show the date _received_
as the date and time you do the import: importing is the same as receiving
by mail as far as the application is concerned _and there is no mail header
with that type of "received" information. However the Sent time of the
message should be the true original sent date and time - since that _is_ in
a header. Change your date display in Outlook to Sent, not Received, and you
should be OK.
The scripts for mail don't do much but kelp you "package" the MBOX files. No
"Received" data is added. Even with the IMAP method, the "received" info is
not transferred from one application's cache to the other's.
