Hey all,
Thanks in adavnce for any help you can offer. I (like many others
befor me) am trying to export my full contact list from Entourage X as
a CSV file to import into both Hotmail and Earthlink Webmail. Of
course, Entourage only exports at TXT files. I tried the Entourage
Import-Export X download, but the "read-me" reads like mandarin chinese
to me. Does anyone know a work-around for this coinversion, or can you
explain in english the steps to take using Import-Export X?
Again, your help is much appreciated.

Export as TDT, then read that file into excel, which can save as CSV.

In some cases these web sites really want only CSV files as exported by
Outlook or Outlook Express on Windows. You might find that almost no info is
imported. If that's the case, you could try a couple of things:

Create a few contacts in Hotmail or Earthlink and export them and open the
CSVs. Take a look at the top header line and note what names it uses for the
fields. Change the names of the equivalent fields of the CSV file you made
from the Entourage export to match, and try importing again.

There might still be problems due to different formatting on Mac and Windows
CSV files. If so, you could just get my Export-Import Entourage X scripts
from

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

and read the ReadMe "Outlook" section, Exporting to Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.
