exporting simple html

probably been asked a thousand times, but i'm wondering if there's a way to
export, or filter after export, to get to the minimal essence of the table.
suppose i could juryrig through csv, but somehow think i'd run into a
different set of problems.

even if you eliminate all formatting in excel, the exported html includes a
los of 'extras': height, width, mso..., class tags everywhere. fairly fat
html.

any configuration of excel that will help? 3rd party programs/macros? any
frontpage or other editor tips/tricks?
