Is it possible to export my Entourage contacts to the Apple Address Book,
emails to Mail, and calendar items to iCal?

Thanks!

Open the Apple applications and select File->Import. Select the option to
import Entourage data.

If you are interested in syncing data between applications there is an
update announced to sync contacts and calendar events for March release.

Thanks! Where should I look for that update...the Mactopia page?

Yes, it will be available there. You will also be able to get it through
Microsoft AutoUpdate, in the Applications folder, and accessible from any
Office application by going to Help > Check for Updates.

Ms. Ross:

I recalled a thread in this list serve sometime back that Microsoft was
considering an update to Entourage to permit syncing between computers. I
unsuccessfully tried to find that thread and concluded I was dreaming and
continue my unsuccessful struggle to make third-party syncs work.

I noticed your statement in a March 24, 06 reply that " update announced to
sync contacts and calendar events for March release" which renewed my
interest, i.e., hope for a solution.

Is there something on the horizon from Microsoft that will simplify syncing
Entourage data among multiple computers from a server? Does anyone know if
it will have to work through a .mac account or whether it can work off
office servers to computers on a network such as the Tiger Server Software I
have.

All my computers have:
OS 10.4.5
Microsoft Office 2004 updated
Server is OS 10.3.9

Ms. Ross:

I also continue to read about "Exchange Server".

What does is a "Exchange Server" or what does this term refer to.

There has been no specific date for the release other than March. Entourage
2004 users will be able to sync their Entourage calendar, address book,
notes and tasks with iCal, Address Book and Notes with .mac.

You will not be able to sync your messages. Because Entourage stores the
info in a database you cannot sync one database with another without
rewriting the entire database.

See this page for help connecting your Mac to your Exchange Server and
moving information to Entourage.
