external excel named range

hi--

i'm really new to publisher.

here's what i'd like to do.....

have an excel spreadsheet with many named ranges.

in publisher, i'd like to reference them so they are brought in in
"real-time" (ie. any changes i make in Excel, i don't have to re-touch
every page in publisher to re-copy/paste the changed excel named range)

any internet link or suggestions?

TIA

hi--

it's easy to Insert - Object and insert the entire XLS file.

what i want to do is a "named range" from a given XLS file.

I've got 100's of named ranges in Excel and want specific ones not the whole
spreadsheet.

or is there some other way i should do this?

thanks

That's called OLE. In the Publisher publication use Insert, Object. Add the
Excel object.

i trust this process is correct:

Excel: name range, select named range

Publisher: Paste Special, Link, Excel

then, only the named range is pasted and it will change in real-time in
Publisher as it changes in Excel...

if that is correct, i can't believe how simple it was.

thanks for pointing me in the right direction
