Extra tab added after numbering past 100

I got a document for someone that I am trying to fix.
When the Number List gets to 100 it adds a tab.

Does anyone know how to fix this.

Hi Jim

The problem is that the long numbers are spreading beyond the first tab stop. When Word puts in the number, followed by a Tab, it's
already past the first tab stop and thus goes on to the second tab stop. For a solution, see
