Fading edges of pics

I'm just switching from Print Shop Pro to Publisher, and PSP has a "photo
effects" feature for quickly fading picture edges. Do I really have to take
the picture out of Publisher, put it into a digital image program and bring
it back to do this? Thanks, Bobbi

I do *all* of my photo editing outside of Publisher.

In a photo editing program, i.e., Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and

Word 2007 can do it. Insert the picture and then when you have the pic
selected, a "Picture Tools" tab appears in which there are lots of cool
picture effects ("Picture Styles") like frames, blurred edges, reflection
shadows, etc. I just can't figure out how to do it in Publisher. Even if
you copy/paste from Word to Publisher, the effect doesn't print right. (I
have posted this as a question myself.)
