Fading Pictures...

I am trying to do a powerpoint presentation and would like to include
something like the intro page on this link http://www.hucsc.com/
I'm not exactly where to start...does anyone have any advice/suggestions?
At the very least I guess I'd like to know how to fade one picture into
another...is this possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Which version of PowerPoint do you use? In PPT 2002 or 2003 there are Fade
In and Fade Out animations, which you could use. Place one picture on top of
the other and have one fade out and the other one in.
