I am really disappointed with the Contacts capabilities of Outlook.
Here are some thoughts.
1) Display name should be THE identifier for an email. For example, if
(e-mail address removed) is in my address book with a display name of "Dad,"
then when an email arrives from him, it would be nice if it said Dad
and not (e-mail address removed) in the From: field. The same goes with the
alert notification popup.
2) As such, when I sort by sender/recipient in any folder, instead of
one for Dad, I get many like dad, (e-mail address removed), <Joe Schmoe>,
etc. which makes it a pain to find information. Similarly, whomever
else is in the To field creates another group. E.G., messages to
(e-mail address removed) are grouped together, messages to (e-mail address removed); (e-mail address removed)
are grouped together separately.
I'll post these in the general forum but copy them here:
3) Why isn't the alert notification form configuarable? Wouldn't it be
great to change where on the screen it appears? EVEN BETTER, wouldn't
it be great to see the picture of the person associated with the
contact record popup? If not there then at least on the email itself.
4) Allow for changing the opacity of notes? Allow for selecting the
color of each individual note? Allow for notes to run in a separate
process that could run without Outlook.
Just some thoughts.
