File permission errors, eh?

Okay. I'm having that stupid trouble in MS Word. My home comp is running Office 2000 with Win95 (how it does THAT, I have NO clue, as it was set up like that when I recieved it), and I haven't had this problem at all there...yet. These library comps seem to be running Office 2000 with WinNT...and it ALWAYS happens. I've read in this forum about saving first to the hard drive then copying to the disk (plain ol' floppy in the A-drive here...), but DOESN'T THAT DEFEAT THE POINT OF BEING ABLE TO SAVE THINGS DIRECTLY TO THE DISK IN THE FIRST PLACE!? I mean, come on, someone HAS to admit that having to go through all that extra trouble is rather insane...there has got to be a way around that entire file permission error garbage WITHOUT having to do all that saving and copying!
