Find and replace

I want to replace Gdansk with Gdańsk. I can type ń using control n but this does not register in the "replace box". I have tried pasting direct into the replace box again nothing happens.

Any suggestions

You can work around this by copying the desired Replace With, and then
setting Replace With in the F&R window to Clipboard Contents (click on More,
then Special, with the cursor in the Replace with box, to enter Clipboard
Contents).

Actually, you should be able to paste the copied text into the "Replace
with" box directly using Ctrl+V. ^c should not be required except for
graphics and the like.

I tried everything but when I emptied "with the cursor in the Replace with box, Clipboar
Contents" the paste read instead of Gdańsk I got ^c

So somewhere the copy was altered

Let's start again

1. Type Gdansk
2. Select and copy it to the clipboard
3 Run the replace tool.
4. In the find box put Gdansk
5. In the replace box put ^c
6. Run the replace
7 Job done!

^c is the F&R code for "Clipboard contents." As Graham has pointed out, when
you run the replace, you'll get "Gdańsk."

I don't believe you can use ^c in the "Find what" box, but you may be able
to type the accented word directly into the box (using the standard keyboard
shortcuts for accented characters) or use Ctrl+V to paste it in.

What if one wants to replace one accented word with another? It does not

seem possible to use the clipboard contents in both the find and replace at
the same time.

Is the only solution to place the find accented word in the clipboard and

replace it with a non-accented word and then run find/replace again with the
non-accented word in find and the replacement accented word in the
clipborad?
