Find lowest value in a range

P

Pat

WinXP/Excel 2002

Need to locate and discard lowest value out of 4 numbers. Remaining three
numbers to be averaged - with that number being used later on.

Tried DMIN - but had trouble with formula set-up.

Any advice?

Thank you

Pat,

Try

=AVERAGE(LARGE(N1:N4,{1,2,3}))

=SUM(LARGE(A1:A4,ROW(1:3)))/3

Enter with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER (as array formula)

....

Everyone else likes LARGE or SMALL. I'd use simpler tools.

=(SUM(Range)-MIN(Range))/3
