Find messages that didn't get a reply?

Sometimes I find out that an email I send to a friend or business
associate was not received. But I only know this if I run into them and
bring it up. Like everyone else, I send out quite a few emails and
sometimes I don't realize that I didn't receive a response from someone
until much later.

Is there a way to have entourage tell me if an email that I sent out
did or did not receive a response? Maybe there's a third party script
that could so this? I think that it would be very useful to sort by
"replied to."

Thanks.

You can use "Return Receipts". Directions and info here:

Note:

1) It doesn't work when the receiving email client does not have an
automatic service that sends a reply. (Not only Entourage - there are many,
many other other email clients which don't reply.) Therefore, if you don't
get a reply you may incorrectly think it wasn't received,

2) It doesn't tell you that the recipient read the message anyway, only that
his email client _received_ it. Therefore when you get the reply you may
incorrectly believe that he read it when he hasn't.

I'm having the same problem at the moment.
Iam receiveing e-mails no problems but I can't send them using entorage.
I can send e-mails using the webmail.
This has only occurred since Dec 13.
I have checked the SMTP setting and have spent an hour with my ISP trying
varioua different thing to no avail.
I have even tried sending an e-mail to my self and I haven't received it.
I have followed the instructions under help and this didn't work either.
Any ideas?
I'm getting frustarated!

Actually, I was referring to emails that I've already sent. It would
seem that if I send an email TO: DIANE ROSS with the subject HELP WITH
ENTOURAGE, that there could be a script to look for an email FROM:
DIANE ROSS with the subject RE: HELP WITH ENTOURAGE. That would
determine that the sent email had been responded to. Then I'd like to
know which emails DID NOT receive a reply.

Maybe I'm the only one that would find this helpful...

Thanks either way,

David

Actually, I was referring to emails that I've already sent. Entouage
already keeps some sort of "thread" to know whether an email is part of
a post/reply chain, right? I'm wondering if there's a way to tell if I
didn't receive a reply from a message I sent out.

I agree that would be a nice feature to have. Check out these scripts:

File Reply in Same Folder X 2.0
Freeware Author: Paul Berkowitz

This script will save any reply you send out to the same folder as the
message to which you are replying. This is very useful when you have
different folders for specific correspondence. If you wish you could have
this same option for any folder as is offered by the Mailing List Manager
for mailing lists only, this script will enable it.

Set Sent Message Category 1.0
Freeware Author: Paul Berkowitz

This script will set the category of a sent message to the same as that of
its first TO recipient that is a contact in your Address Book. It can run
automatically on all replies from an Outgoing Rule, so that sent messages
now show categories automatically just like received messages do when you
have that preference set.
