Find Record Command Button

I put a Command Button on my form using the Wizard ...
Record Navigation, Find Record. It is not consistent in
finding records when searching all fields on the form. If
I click in one field i.e. "Name" and search just that
field, it seems to work. The form also has a couple of
combo fields on it.

I'm using Access 2000 and the code for the command button
is

DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acEditMenu, 10, , acMenuVer70
