Finding duplicate data

I am running Office 2003 and have 2000+ e-mails in an Excel file.
1 email in each cell, running vertically down the "A" cell column.
example:
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)

Some of the e-mails are duplicate and I want to remove those duplicates.
I know I can sort the data and physically look for any strings that look the
same, but is there a way I can have Excel or Word automatically identify the
duplicates for me?

If those eamil addresses are genuine, the owners are going to be cursing you
right now! A lot of Spammers harvest email address fron news groups.

Of course they are not legitimate e-mails. I simply listed samples so that
someone with the knowledge to answer my question would understand the form
the data was in!

put in B2

if(A1=A2,"*"," ")

Now copy it to "B3 and down. All dupes will hav an * behind them.

You're welcome. BTW after you've done that, you can copy Column B and
paste special "values" to column B, and then sort data on B to group
them for easy deletion.
