I recently started using a lan connections with a proxy server at IP address
and Port 8080 from the lan settings in Internet explorer at my office through
my local network. I access the internet easily but I have been unable to
download my POP3 and SMTP sending and receiving as I can with my dial-up
service. I changed the connection to LAN but I get error stating unable to
log onto incoming or outgoing mail servers. I have disabled firewall and
norton antivirus to now avail. I have tried every combination of check boxes
in the email account configurations to no avail. I am lost as to why they
settings work on dial-up but doe not work on the lan connection?
