first and last dates formula

Hi,

I have a range of dates in a column and want another cell to return th
first date in the range, and another to return the last date. By firs
and last I mean I dont mean the first and last to appear, but wha
would be the first if sorted sequentially.

I don't want to have to sort the date, but want the user to be able t
see what is the first and last dates currently available.

Hi Scott

for the first use =MIN(A1:A10)
for the last use =MAX(A1:A10)
