first slide won't advance

I've completed a powerpoint presentation recently with two songs in it that
play along with the slide show. The first slide of the presentation won't
advance to the second slide. All the other aspects of it work fine, but this
one problem is really starting to get on my nerves. Please help. I have read
the other discussions and
tried various things to get it to work, but have had no luck. Want to show
this presentation to a business client who may want to hire me to do more
like it, how
can I get it to work? HELP

These are the settings for the first slide:
song - start - with previous - start from beginning - play through 33 slides
entrance -picture - with previous - speed slow - no delay
exit - title - with previous - speed very slow - delay 9 seconds
exit - picture - with previous - speed slow - delay 13 seconds
exit - Our guardian Angel - with previous - very slow speed - delay 14 seconds

the song keeps playing but the slide won't advance, if I advance it manually
on the
first slide the rest of the show works fine, but I need the whole show to
run by it's self. Thanks in advance for your help... Audra

Sounds pretty good so far. What kind of transition setting do you have on
the first slide?

But if you go to Slide Show > Slide Transition, is it set to "On mouse click"?
If so, you need to change that. I think that I would recommend adding a small
rectangle to the slide. Give it an Entrance animation of "Appear" and set it to
"After Previous", i.e after the guardian angel. Then give the rectangle "no
fill" and "no line" so that it will actually be invisible. Then set the Slide
Transition to Automatically after 1 second. Test it to see if it meets your
needs. The invisible rectangle just helps to define the absolute end of the
slide so that all of the previous animations will complete within the time
allowed/set before the slide transitions.
