Fixing Database - Office X

Hi gang, I need some suggestions on how to reduce a DB file size. I'm
stumped. So I realize that the limit is 4Gb. My DB is 3.99. When I launch
Entourage, I get a message stating I've reached the limit, and I need to
re-build. Fine. When I hit OK, I should see the option for a typical or
advanced rebuild. I don't. The program crashes immediately.

There isn't a problem w/ Entourage that I know of. I have another identity,
that works fine. No crashing whatsoever. I understand that the DB could be
corrupt, but I don't think so. On the very first launch (I transferred the
DB to another machine), I was able to get into things briefly. I saw all my
folders and messages. There was a smallish pop-up window saying I need to
rebuild. When I push OK, Ent crashes.

Note: It crashes when I hold down option at startup as well. Also, I tried
importing the DB into Entourage 04. Funny thing, when I try to create a new
identity in Entourage 04, it crashes! Man, what's up? I can try it on
another machine I guess. Any other suggestions?

Try swapping the Database & Database Cache files from the non-working
identity to the working identity (backup the working id first !), and
testing with the working identity ?
