Flag for late tasks that have external successors

To identify late tasks that have external successors, I've customized a flag
field with the formula: datediff("d",[Finish],date())>0 And
Instr([Successors],"\"). Despite my warnings, some of the external links
were created on summary tasks. The flag doesn't recognize those links. Can
anyone suggest how I might write the formula to make the flag work on all
links?

I'm sure one of the VBA gurus here can help. There might even be an
easier way. But if were me, I'd go back and explain that not only is
linking Summary lines a bad idea from a scheduling point of view, but
that it is defeating your efforts to do effective tracking/reporting.
You might also mention that linking Summary lines causes problems with
Resource Leveling, Earned Value analysis and is the major cause of
circular links. You have a great opportunity to nip this bad habit in
the bud!
Hope this helps in your world.
