Flashing Finder icon missing for Office 2004

For Office 2001, OS 9, I had my Send & Receive All scheduled as a Repeating
Schedule that collected my email every 1 minute.

I could be working in another application, say QuarkXPress, and look up to
see a flash in the upper right hand corner prompting me when my new email
arrived. That way I wouldn't have to leave my graphics application to know
when email arrived throughout the day.

Then I upgraded to OS 10.3.3 and Office 2004. No more flashing the Finder
icon in the upper right hand corner.

Does anybody know how I can get that back?

Much appreciated.

You can't. The Finder icon was part of the OS 9 application menu. It no
longer exists in OS X. Check out the notification section of Entourage's
preferences. There are several options for notifying you of new mail.
