Floppy Failure

I originally purchased Microsoft Office Professional in
1999 when it was version 4.3 (23 discs worth - no, I
don't have backup discs). In two thousand something I
got the Microsoft Office Professional 2000 Standard
upgrade. Happily, I bought a new CPU after living with
the limits of my Pentium One for many years. Problem is,
the first disc of my Office series (like, the Setup disc)
cannot be read. I get a "disc is not formatted"
message. Now, I cannot install my beloved Word and know
not what to do. Any suggestions?
