The overall settings are in the Windows registry in at least two different keys. The per-folder settings are stored as a hidden item in each folder. Both will be backed up by the Save My Settings Wizzard.

So I can now sort out my archives and if I ever need to rebuild my PC -
which I do aprox every 6 months to clear the rubbish out, then a simple
restore of the SMSW will preserve each folder setting!
Thanks Sue.
