FollowHyperLink error in Word2000

Using a User Form, I want to be able to click on a command button to downlad an
'.exe' file from the internet. I use the 'FollowHyperLink' method to make the
connection. It works perfectly in all versions of Word except 2000 (where have
I heard that before?). When the routine is called, an error message appears
with "- 241741811" as the title to the error message box and the message itself
reads: "Method 'FollowHyperLink' of object '_Document' failed." Is there a
decent workaround?

I have only ever received this error from 2000 when there was no
activedocument to have methods available from.
