Font / Display Issues

For some reason, recently, Entourage started displaying e-mail (some, not
all) in a Times typeface, but with garbled up letters.

It seems as if I deleted the font Entourage was using to display my e-mail,
and the one replacing it is in another language. (I know that doesn't make
sense... but that's how it looks).

Often when I open an e-mail (so no longer seeing it in the preview-pane) it
still is messed up. Many times I can ONLY read the original message when I
see it in a REPLY TO window. (So, I have to pretend to respond to the
message, hitting reply to see the original message). Only then does it
display in a legible manner in my Lucida Grande type.

Any thoughts?

First never turn off Apple's Helvetica, or any other font found in
/System/Library/Fonts.

FAQ: Text is gibberish.

In addition to trashing the com.microsoft.browserfont.cache, you can also
try trashing the tasmanbrowser.cache, which will be found in your
~/Library/Caches.

If trashing the cache files does not fix your problem see the links in Font
Management for help.
